This is the tough part. I’m used to writing about other people, not myself. So – here goes. I used to be a reporter, covering crime for daily newspapers. My career has taken me all over the country – I’ve worked in Missouri, Washington, D.C., South Florida, the Seattle region, and the Bay Area. My work has appeared in numerous newspapers, including the Miami Herald, San Jose Mercury News, Philadelphia Inquirer and Contra Costa Times.
My first book, The False Prophet: Conspiracy, Extortion and Murder in the Name of God, is the true account of a Northern California man who convinced two followers he was a prophet of God and that he needed to usher in the Second Coming of Jesus Christ by any means necessary. In order to raise money for their end-of-days scheme, the trio killed five people during a tremendously convoluted Bay Area crime spree.
After living with that case for so long, I decided I’d had enough of the real world and turned to fiction. And I’m having so much fun coming up with my own crimes.
I write the Sheriff Hank Worth mystery series, set in the Missouri Ozarks town of Branson. In order, the books are: The Branson Beauty, Another Man's Ground, A Deadly Turn, Fatal Divisions, Dangerous Consequences, and Home Fires. The seventh book in the series, Throwing Shadows, is scheduled for release later in 2025.
I'm currently working on the next Hank Worth book, as well as a stand-alone novel--more details to come!
